Interior Design| Design Brief Noah Nishihara Homegroup T09

This document outlines the objectives, audience, and assumptions for the project and details the creative concept.

Project Details

Date: Term 1 to Term 2 Week 4Prepared By: Noah Nishihara

Project Name: High-Grade Electronics Shop Design (Store Name: Village witha Bridge)

The Problem: To design an electronic products store of a shopping complex.

Requirements: ‘Canson’ Paper rendering or Scale Model as the final piece

Project Concept/Theme

The interior design of the shop should entice and fit the needs of all people so that they will eagerly purchase products and leave the shop with good feelings. The products will be tried, advertised and sold through this shop.Lighting will be white or warm coloured. There will be many lamps. Including an aquarium corner contributes to the creation of a calming atmosphere. Water vapour will be controlled. The gift corner is for people who may need to urgently buy presents. Many expensive appliances are invented for the kitchen. Therefore the kitchen corner is very important. In the middle there will be the Panasonic wind creator Q (fan) F-BM25TU. It can act as a circulator and an electric fan. Hig-end PCs (VAIO and the Panasonic Let’s Note) will be behind the fan, just for the effect.

Business Objectives

Businesses will develop more new, expensive products which speed up the evolution of both design and technology.

Project Time Scale / Deadline

Week 4 Term 2= Ideation and Refine stages will take 2 weeks; the final design will take another 2 weeks.

Audience= Everyonefrom children to the disabled.

Assumptions and Research

I chose this theme because of my interest in pleasant environments that enhance the experience of customers. (not only just shopping but also enjoyment/learning taking place)

Competitive Landscape/Possible Sources of Inspiration

Concept LABI Tokyo, Apple Stores, ‘Smiggle’ type shop, Phone stores and scale model shops. All of these emphasize the design and layout (experience) of the shop to have people drop in and look around. Concept LABI Tokyo also has the ability to accommodate large amounts of people. Apple stores use white to show cleanliness. Although the colour black is becoming more fashionable in some cultures, white is still the dominant colour of technology throughout the world.

Benchmarks

No usage of dark tones/colours anywhere in the store. No cramped spaces allowed.Large appliances were originally not planned for this high-end store. (However, a few will not hurt.) Along the sides of the walls, glass shelves will be lined up with various products placed on top of it.

Required Materials

Pictures / photographs / diagrams etcto be used will be collected through the Internet and other sources of information. Materials required for a scale model or perspective rendering.

User Value Proposition / Benefits

The user benefits and value of the project include being able to experience a different range of products and being inspired. Products of this store include fish tanks and filtering systems that enable aquarium keepers to minimise water usage. Kitchen appliances include oven toasters, toasters, coffee machines, espressos, wood-textured appliances, mixers and others. Air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines will also be included.

Shops that call themselves the ‘town electrical appliance store’in Japan are valued for their ease of access, hardworking spirit, and trust. For this store, I have not chosen a mall or large shopping complex to place it in. The design of this store can be used anywhere in the world. This store is not about helping customers or solving their issues. It is for all people and people who can afford the more expensive appliances to view and try products. All the best current electronic products in the world will be here. That is the sole user value and benefit for this store.
