Year 10 English: Film Study

The task

Write a film review of the class film. Prepare your review for publication in a magazine or newspaper, or as a blog, by making it look professional and visually interesting. Include the following and add what else you want:

a)     A headline

b)     A by-line

c)      A concise summary of the plot and genre

d)     A discussion of the main ideas in the film

e)     A description of the main characters and their roles in depicting ideas

f)      Some description of key scenes, with an explanation of why they are important in depicting the idea(s) you have identified

g)     A description and explanation of some of the film techniques used, with reference to specific examples and their effects

h)     Your opinion of the film and your recommendations about audience.
