Technology Party of Australia TPA

Name: Technology Party(技術者党) (Technical Experts and Engineers Party) abb. As TP or TEEP

Within Australia, this party shall be called the Technology Party of Australia. TPA

Slogan:Enrich an Affluent Society with Technology

Our Three Policies: To create a society in which technical experts and engineers are greatly respected. To create a society in which technical experts and engineers have a stable employment. To create a society in which technology is used to energize industry, solve social problems and produce wealth. All this will contribute to the creation of a new national economy. We also advocate that government/politics should not interfere with technology or science. Several Australian independent groups and organisations will be supported in order to achieve this.

Principles

Reason for Founding This Party

Currently, the world is becoming global. People, things, money are crossing borders and move around easily. What is happening because of this?

An example of what is happening is the moving of factories to countries with lower personal expenses and labour costs by manufacturing companies. Regarding international trade, the Free Trade Agreement is becoming more widespread throughout the world and tariffs are lowered bit by bit. Under the easy monetary policy/a policy of monetary relaxation, speculative shares are being bought and sold. As a result of this, some companies may sell their shares, and when the share prices fall, intentional M&A/ merger and acquisition takes place rampantly. Even if the outcome does not become as bad as this, profits and assets are reduced if shares prices fall.

With a globalised economy like the above, competition between companies will become more and more overheated, with only a few multinational mega-sized companies dominating all the profits. Many small to medium-sized businesses will lose the competition and be forced to withdraw from the market. In a situation like this, the ones that lose and suffer the most are those workers who work in places ranging from weak small manufacturing companies to better-off companies. Their salary is quickly lowered and they may be dismissed or discharged easily. The workers are in the weakest position.

However, the current governments of the advanced nations all support globalisation, liberal/capitalist economies, and the principles of competition. They do NOT protect the employment of workers who have no choice but live unstable lives. The aim of economic activity was originally to provide jobs to the population. The role of government was to allow people living in the country to be economically independent and live stable lives. If governments choose to give up and abandon this, then the role of protecting our lives can no longer be depended on these established parties or governments. We stand up to protect the stable lives of workers who work in manufacturing companies and other companies.

This is the reason why this party has been formed.

Note on Participating Members

This party is not trying to represent all workers. Strictly speaking, workers are all skilled technical experts and engineers due to their learning and experience gathered for many years. Technology does not just refer to the high-level research, innovation and manufacturing of the latest IT areas, machinery, and electronics etc. school teachers, supermarket workers, nurses, managers of shops, public transport drivers, doctors, lawyers and officers all have a ‘technology’ or skill that must be learnt. Working people can all be considered as technical experts and engineers in this sense. However, my technology party is only a spokesman or mouthpiece for those who work at medium-small sized businesses as staff members, researchers, inventors, and manufacturers.

Content of Our Activity

We strive to correct the excessive globalisation which hurts the dignity of technical experts and engineers. We are against all those economic plans/strategies, financial plans and laws which keep a pace with the excessive globalisation. To correct all this, we will use the methods outlined below.

(1) Recruit staff and workers of national manufacturing companies (including branch companies with capital investment by a foreign company and their factories) to become candidates and send our spokespersons into Parliament through elections.

(2) Regarding elections, we will vote for our own candidates. We will state the importance of a national economy to eligible voters.

(3) After we have gained a seat in Parliament, we will be actively following the ideals of our party and cooperate with other parties when chances are available. We will create a denomination and flexibly respond to issues so that a national economy can be realised.

(4) The position of technical experts and engineers within society will be lifted. In order to acquire the support of citizens, technical experts and engineers will not neglect their research or innovation so that Australians can live comfortable lives.

Policies/Measures (Election Platform/Manifesto)

(1) Reduction of tax for medium to small sized businesses. The profits and capitals of medium to small sized businesses will be protected.

(2) Medium to small sized businesses will have low-interest loans. The capital investment of medium to small sized businesses and research will be supported.

(3) Overseas companies will have even more trouble trying to merge Australian companies. This is to protect corporate activities and employment within Australia.

(4) Protection of national industries. We will restrict the freeing of trade in order to maintain prices of products made by national industries

(4a) Abolish the excessive performance-based pay system and merit system. (In favour of a seniority-based system and education background system.)Performance-based pay systems and merit systems were thought to create the will to work by increasing the competition sense and tension. However, in reality, this actually declines the will. It is impossible to grade/evaluate a personal achievement fairly. This is because most activities within the companies is done in groups. The achievement of a group cannot be traced back to a single person. The team members may have a decline in their motivation due to this.

There are also cases where people try to make their own achievements the best by disturbing fellow workers and getting them into trouble. They will fall into egoism. If everyone is like this, the atmosphere within the company will become bad. Since there is no teamwork, they will not join as an organisation. They will be unable to complete large projects. The overall performance will fall. Everyone has their suitability in terms of employment. Sometimes, a person is placed in a job in which they cannot achieve their full potential. The most important thing is not the measuring of abilities in order to determine salary or employment. You must put the right man in the right place. Recognizing the abilities of each engineer is more important.

From the reasons stated above, the excessive performance-based pay system and merit system and competition principle must be abolished.

(5) Adoption of aseniority system for pay and life-time employment

With a seniority system based promotion regulation, young technical experts and engineers will think that ‘if I work hard enough, someday I will be rewarded’. They will be able to have hope for the future. Willingness to work will become higher. Salaries will not change according to abilities or achievements, and leads to more mental/spiritual stability. Work can be done with a clear head. Impatient and irritated people who don’t know when they will be sacked cannot possibly do good work. They may make the same mistakes due to stress and pressure or disclose ‘safe’ ideas only in order to avoid criticism again. They may be too scared to bring forward a new original idea. How can new products be created.

Also, salaries will be higher when people are facing their most critical and money-costing times. Fees to bring up children and loan repayment for houses are all encountered during that time. Staff will be able to safely work and live. life-time employment  can also deliver the same effects. As people can work in a relaxed and secure way, adventurous work and challenging tasks can be brought forward. This allows for great innovation. Technical experts and engineers require peace of mind. Because of this, seniority system for pay and life-time employment is essential.

Lastly, by working in the same company for a long time, people will be able to really belong to it and develop a liking for it. Feelings such as ‘if it’s for this company, I can do work like I am going to die’ or ‘I must do my best to repay for my company's kindness’ will develop. Workers can think of their company as something like a family.

(6) Enlarge Australian home consumption and domestic demand

By having Australia impose restrictions on free trade and protecting domestic companies, other countries will also restrict Australian industrial products from entering their countries. Exports of industrial products may encounter problems. However, that loss can be covered by increasing domestic demand and earning from there. domestic demand can be increased by the seniority system for pay and life-time employment. By having a stable work and salary, the will of purchase will become higher. Families will also become easier to create. Cars and houses will also be bought. We won’t have to be swallowed by the wave of global economy.

If we do utilise and support a global economy, then all of the excessive performance-based pay system and merit system stuff will cause most engineers and workers to lose their jobs and income. Domestic demand will disappear and earnings can only be made from overseas. Those exporting industries will most likely not have a base or foothold in Australia. A country with lower personal expenses and labour costs would be a better choice. Therefore, the companies of this country will not contribute to the national economy. This is the state of modern companies and my party is intent on reforming this kind of corporate activity completely.

Other: We recognise the fact that government agencies, universities, and relevant organizations and associations in and beyond Australia are required to cooperate in order to create the innovative products and services of the future.

Our party would be a better choice for voters who work in small to medium sized businesses that determine the future of technology in this country. Therefore our party is better than others for those voters.
