Meizu Hifi does not support DSD DoP

It comes out as white noise. No amount of tweaking appears to change this.

Works on HQPlayer, but not JRiver or foobar DSD Processor. Oh well.

Consider comparing Meizu and Meizu Pro teardown pictures from 52audio. Meizu Pro has components on the bottom side as well. The only difference is the opamp. DoP support limits remain the same.

Although my first purchase was $24, which is the average price on taobao (25), I bought today a $10 DAC supposedly meant to be Meizu. It seems to not have included GST, nor shipping. In that sense taobao is a mystery to me. It might be a different DAC. If it is Meizu, I feel I have overpaid a few weeks back. But you never know. If it is Meizu, I might buy 2 more or sth.

I know that Meizu Pro suffers phone antenna interference as noise. But I don’t see how SHDP has any benefit due to its micro B USB (directly connectable to PC), its single structure enclosure and useless volume buttons. Perhaps SHDP lasts longer, but 3-6 Meizus equal a SHDP, or 2 Meizus equal SHDP … I’d rather have quantity than quality when it comes to DACs. The audible stuff really doesn’t matter much if DoP 128 is supported.
