TP TRIO
By helping others, for example, I
would improve not only my lifestyle, health, study results. I did not place her at the centre
of my life, nor did I place myself (my best interests) at centre. Instead I did
whatever I wanted to do. I disregarded and ignored my duty to disabled persons
residing right next to me. I didn't respect her efforts and her deep,
interconnected knowledge that is alive and builds cross-ways and on the past.
Some people would be simple and
value the person with property. The smart person would value brains, habit and
so on. I appear to not value or respect brains. Like Count of Monte Cristo
(film), the training of habits is indeed priceless, and ultimately, combined
with the treasure, he succeeded. Without the brains there'd be nothing. Only
failure would have awaited him.
My neck problem, posture, eyes,
must all be improved, fixed. My sleep schedule and speaking about synecoculture
angered mum badly because at that moment in time she did not want to hear
anything at all.
Without a clear timetable and
goal, I will never practice the recorder
If there is anything good about
admiring and collecting old second hand PCs, it would be that one is no longer
misled by modern flashy technology.
Until 800H is obsolete I will
wait. I want a 5GHz 16M cache 8 core CPU and a well-designed laptop. But in so
far as my main tasks are in the mastering audio and typing realm, I believe my
TP business trio will last me until I graduate.
Having put it down that IBM TP,
Sony VAIO, Panasonic Let's Note are the best makers, with TPs from decades back
looking and feeling no less 'usable' and 'cool' than they were back in the day
- timeless design, Sony software and hardware defining decades of design
features that are prized by some fans - CP, XG, SSMS, and much Sony AV software
associated with those walkman and alpha and IC Rec software...cylindrical
design, lightness, AV features like i.LINK, and Panasonic strangely has
continued to build retro looking magnesium PCs that is surely a bit TOO retro
in this second decade?? For its dedication to the features some like -
removable battery! - I am a fan. But the fact is that abandoned batteries do
deteriorate, so having it internalised helps overall with balance and design
and helps prevent overdischarge. I support internal batteries only if charging limits
are available - we know hp and dell do this already, so it is no longer a niche
with IBM and Sony VAIO...
I like Apple's M1 chip for it is
a much needed ARM refresher for the AMD Intel scene. But for low power users,
it is not a desirable upgrade. Every other laptop maker has little news to
provide. Many of their 'innovative' products gain very limited attention, for
they're not highly necessary features - a second tablet screen on the back of
the main screen that runs a separate OS!?, a logo that acts as a smart speaker
for Cortana which most don't use?, an LG screen that can act as a speaker -
sacrilege for those who think the moving coil hasn't been perfected yet! At
this point consumers are well aware that there are too many options - tablet,
laptop, convertible, second hand, self-made, desktop, monitor+laptop, with many
OS options as well. What software one wants to use determines the device.
Because of the pro coder type user base of Linux, and the consumer oriented
rich guy base for Mac and i-devices, both of which I do not identify with, I
use Windows, the OS for education and businesses, with some Linux. All my
software is built for Windows. So I choose the best cost performance:
monitor+laptop for productivity and portability. Since understanding how
ALC1220 is nothing to boast about, I've felt that self-made PCs are costly for
no reason. I don't need touchscreens or hinges that get too worn out.
TP TRIO: All I need is a
portable (with good soft keyboard) X220, Pro Tools+ light internet usage E550
with big screen (1366 16:9 aspect ratio is suitable for text editing), and
desktop replacement 800H with SEQUOIA and everything else I need for my trade.
RETIRED: My TZ2 has a good
screen but is useless, my FE4's DSD is obsolete and I don't need its large
screen, E14 has an HDD and its dual boot is a nuisance now, but if the old SSD
and Blu-Ray drive is used, it could do some work, yet its fan is a non-stop
cheap fan that's noisy.
I must charge TZ2's battery
however. E14 is not junk because it's the last one with Win 8.1! I can imagine
I would use TZ and X220 sometimes. All my PCs are a decade old, except E550 who
is 4 years old, and 800H who is 3 yrs old. Actual usage would determine 800H is
very old and abused, followed by X220, E14, FE4...TZ2 has been burnt a couple
times, while E550 is preserved in its original state, and so is closest to new.
Clearly I like my laptops very much, and preserving them sounds like no fun
compared to 'deploying' them on missions. I guess with travel being reduced,
800H is gonna be stuck on my desk while X220+E550 might move around the house a
little. But that's the most they'll do. I don't intend to update E550 as it
might mess up.
If asked to choose one PC out of
my 6, the choice would likely be X220. Incredibly, some people would rather use
X220 at home after using Mac at work. TP old models entice users!
The clean design of TPs lately
has removed its potential to be a fun laptop. Of course E550 is a consumer
model but nowadays it is common to see even worse than E550, so E550 actually
looks retro too.
Power through tech biz with the
TP TRIO!
