Tempo Semiconductors
Almost immediately after the letter below was written, I had brekkie of pilaf, lettuce, lamb, eggs, sesame, and orange and apple, and then went back to the PC, where I then went downstairs to water the plants and put the clothes into the washer. I later entered the washroom and realized that I had very itchy hands – it was mosquito. A hot steamy day, and I DID NOT LOOK AT MY HANDS! Look at them next time – as well as your whole body!
Dear Tempo Semiconductors Support,
I have an official inquiry regarding a product supported by IDT, Sony, and Sigmatel - also a company in Austin, Texas. I have an inventory of around 2500 of these chips and would like to ask for the datasheet which is necessary for the implementation of the chip in an external USB device. The product had many variants and was used from 2005 to 2011 in Sony VAIO PCs branded as 'Sound Reality' (Sony lied to the Japanese press and said they alone created the chip, when it was a Sigmatel chip originally) and had many followers due to the ability to record DSD using a PC with SSMS software.
The Chip/CODEC Name: SigmaTel CXD9872RD/K aka SigmaTel STAC9225
later rebranded IDT CXD9872 with any combination of letters after the 9872 bit.
Since IDT does not support any of their codecs, and SONY has lost their info, while Sigmatel has gone for many years, I would like to ask Tempo to, if not already, acquire the information such as the Datasheets for this CXD9872 and its variants from IDT. Please note Realtek has since 2017 been ASIO 2.2 licensed and allows DSD128 on its ALC 1220 chip. ESS has long had DSD256 and high audio quality.
Tempo would do well to include this functionality and improve upon the stagnation IDT brought to SigmaTel and Sony's advancement from 2005.
Yours sincerely,
DSD Audio Division
